Step 5: Lay flat to dry- could be on a towel, yoga mat, or drying mat

How to De-pill

If you are de-pilling a cashmere or wool sweater use a wool shaver and work with the direction of the knit going down.

Mohair De-Pill

If you are de-pilling mohair or something that has a similar texture carefully cut off the little pills with snips making sure not to cut into the actual garment.

How to store

Store your knits away for the season with a sealed bin or box with lavender sachets and/or cedar wood to ward off moths. Remember to wash your sweaters each season before you store away. If I have an extra bar of soap lying around I will add that to where I store my clothing too.

Moths do not like lavender, eucalyptus, or cedarwood.

P.S. You do NOT have to dry clean your cashmere sweaters! In fact a number of clients have had garments ruined from the harmful chemicals used. It can damage and shrink your knits. The thing to be careful of is if you have something that is colorfast dyed, you may want to use a color catcher so that the dye does not bleed.
